Introduction
Concept art for a game I plan to make. The image shows a desolate ruined city with overgrown corals/fungus-like parasites. A character has arrived at the site to scavenge for supplies and contemplates a very like create that pass in the far background.
Due to the toxic ar caused by the overgrown parasites, the character has to use special gear tethered to the vehicle.
Supplies
I used Blender to render most elements and Affinity Photo to add details and a painterly look. The character and vehicle were designed, modeled, textured and rigged by me in Blender.

I am always inspired by Simon Stalenhag's art. Not only by his art style, that look like photographs with a painterly look, but the themes he chooses. He create these fantastic scenes with robots and creatures, but they are a backdrop, forgotten history on scenes that show everyday lives of regular people.
This is the feeling I wanted to convey with my project.
Final art
With the render image, I took to Affinity Photo to paint details that were easier to create with a stylus pen and textured brushes. Among them are sand dunes, foot tracks, additional elements to the character, details on existing corals, additional fungi, the silhouette of a huge creature in the background, cable and the fog/colour corrections.
